On Charlie’s Birthday, 16th April -‘The Cure’ was Released in 1917.

chaplinfortheages:

Though Charlie Chaplin always acknowledged his birthday as April 16, 1889, there was no birth certificate ever on file (not unusual at that time), Charlie Chaplin in a 1915 interview claimed he had been born in Fontainebleau, France perhaps to hide the shame he felt at that time of his poor Victorian London roots.

Another thing to add to the confusion is a birth announcement (above at top) that was printed in a Music Hall trade magazine in May of 1889, indicating he had been born on April 15th 1889.

Anyone who knows about Charlie Chaplin, knows the sad little story of his co-star in “A Dog’s Life”, released 96 years ago April 14th 1918 - his name in the film was Scraps but real name was “Mutt”.

He as well as the other dogs in the film were taken from a local pound.

Thanks to Charlie Mutt will live on in film.

Quick, 10 minute sketchy comic for Peter Capaldi’s birthday, featuring our dear Cardinal. I’m sure others are using this joke, but it works so well with Armand.

Andres Amador is an artist who uses the beach as his canvas, racing against the tide to create these large scale temporary masterpieces using a rake or stick ..

Andres’ creations are simply stunning and knowing that these delicate creations are temporary somehow makes them even more beautiful.

"They come in many shapes and sizes and we shouldn’t try to find the perfect tea bag because some are triangular, some are round, and some are square. And some aren’t even tea bags. They’re lose tea and they need to be looked after more than the other tea. They haven’t been put in a bag. They haven’t been given boundaries."
